The short version

Unspoken helps people share prayer requests and pray for one another. Prayer requests are personal, so we collect as little as we can, never sell your information, and never show your name unless you choose to share it.

What we collect

Prayer requests. The words you write or speak into the text box, the category you choose, whether you marked it urgent, and, only if you choose, your first name.

A device identifier. A random code stored in a cookie on your phone so we can show you your own prayers, avoid giving you your own request, and prevent abuse. It is not tied to your name unless you create an account.

Account details, if you sign in. Your email address, the first name you add, the church you link, and the prayers you share and pray for.

Activity. When prayers are shared, prayed for, answered, or reported, and which Bible verses we have shown you so we can avoid repeats.

Church contact details, for churches that sign up: the contact person's name, email, and phone number.

We do not collect your location, contacts, or payment information. Voice input is converted to text by your phone or browser's own speech service. Unspoken receives only the resulting text, never audio.

Who can see what

People praying. When your request is shared, other people see its words (or only its category, for "Unspoken" requests) and the name and city of the church it came from. They see your first name only if you chose to share it.

Your church. Your church's pastors and staff can see requests shared through your church, including anonymous ones, but not the name or email behind an anonymous request. They see your first name on named requests, and your name and email if you ask to link your account to their church.

Unspoken administrators. A small number of administrators can access all stored data, including which account shared an anonymous request, to operate the service, keep people safe, and respond to reports. We access it only when needed for those purposes.

You. You can always see the prayer requests you’ve shared.

How we use information

To run the prayer relay, show prayer counts, send sign-in codes and the email updates you have not turned off, give churches their dashboards, keep the service safe, and improve it.

AI features. We use AI models hosted by Cloudflare to suggest Bible verses for prayers and to write aggregate summaries of themes for church leaders. Prayer text is sent to these models without your name or email, and it is not used to train them. Theme summaries appear only when at least five people share a theme.

Safety and crisis language

If a request includes words that suggest someone may be in danger, we hold it out of the relay and show crisis resources such as 988 and 911. The request may be seen by your church's care team and Unspoken administrators so someone can respond. Unspoken is not an emergency service and does not monitor requests in real time. If you or someone else is in danger, call or text 988, or call 911.

Service providers

We use Cloudflare to host the service, store data, and run AI features, and Resend to send email. Verse text is retrieved from a public Bible service without any information about you. These providers process data only to provide their services to us.

Site analytics. We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use Unspoken, such as which pages are visited, how people find us, and where the site is hard to use. These tools use cookies and similar technology and may record clicks, scrolling, and page layout. We set them up so that the words on the page, including prayer requests and anything you type, are hidden from them, and we do not use them on private prayer request links, church dashboards, or the Church Service Screen. They never receive your name or email from us.

How long we keep information

Prayer requests stay in the relay until they are marked answered or removed, and remain in our records while your account or church is active. You can ask us to delete your requests or account at any time.

Your choices

You can share anonymously, turn off email updates from My prayers or any email, leave or change your church, and ask us to delete your data by writing to support@unspokenprayer.com.

Children

Unspoken is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has shared information with us, please contact us so we can remove it.

Changes and contact

If we make important changes to this policy, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let account holders know by email. Questions? Write to support@unspokenprayer.com.
